Check Out Items:

The LCC Library has the following items available for checkout. You will need an ID, preferably your LCC student ID card.

  • Traditional library print books 
  • 5,500 loanable textbooks 
  • 300,000 eBooks 
  • 500 DVDs 
  • Chromebooks
  • Hotspots
  • Laptops
  • TI-84+ graphing calculators

How long may I check items out?  

Books and DVDs:  3 weeks

Textbooks:  In-library use only; Overnight; Semester-long (due at the end of the semester

eBooks:  varies

Chromebooks: varies (day, overnight, semester-long)

Hotspots:  varies (day, overnight, semester-long)

Calculator:  varies (day, week, semester-long)

May I renew items?

Yes, as long as there are no holds on the item(s).

How many items may I check out at one time?

Up to 10 items (books, textbooks, e-devices, DVDs)

May books or articles be borrowed from other libraries?

Yes. Books not owned by the LCC Library may be requested via Interlibrary Loan (ILL). The ILL can be requested at the check-out desk.

How long does receiving a book or journal article via ILL take?

Depending on the item’s format—print or electronic—it may take a few days to a few weeks.

May I place a hold on an item in the LCC Library?

Yes. Holds can be requested at the check-out desk.

Are there fines for overdue materials?

No.  However, charges are assessed on items lost or severely damaged.

What if I lose or damage an item?

You will be charged its replacement cost, or you may buy an exact replacement and a block will be placed on your student account. 

What if the LCC Library does not own the textbook I need?

Go to or phone the LCC Bookstore.  Additional rental & purchase sites include Slugbooks, Amazon, AbeBooks.com, BigWords, BookFinder, BooksRun, CampusBooks, Chegg.com, CengageBrain, eBooks, Half.com, OpenStax College, Valorebooks, VitalSource, and Wordery.

How do I find a book in the stacks?

You can find books on the shelves by their Library of Congress call number. Search the online library catalog and make notes about the book’s location and call number. You can then find your book's address using the library shelf signs.  Ask a staff member if you still cannot locate the book you need.

Can I print from my device in the library?

Yes, by going to:

http://print.lassencollege.edu

Sign in with your campus email and password and follow the steps given.

Can I access library resources from off-campus?

Yes. To access the online library resources via the website (http://lassencollege.libguides.com/ARChome), you will need your student ID number and password (same information used for Canvas). 

If you are accessing via Canvas, you need your student LCC email and password.

Can I scan a document?

Yes. 

Does the Library have Wi-Fi?

Yes. LCC provides a wireless signal all over campus, including the circular parking lot near the Humanities and Administrative buildings. To log on to the wireless, you must be currently registered in a Lassen College class. Your login is your LCC student ID number and password.

Does the Library have a study room?

Yes. The Library’s study room holds up to 6 people.
